Skin Review - Glam Affair [Lilith for FAIR]

At the weekend a new event called FAIR opened and Glam Affair is one of the participating stores. FAIR is the opposite of all the bargain and sales events that have become so popular and it means that the designers featured can charge what they think their work is really worth - the fair price for fair work. In my opinion it's high time that people realize that original quality work deserves not only to be recognized but most of all to be paid properly. Never forget that if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys...

Glam Affair's contribution is an exclusive version of the just released Lilith skin. It comes in three different makeups (with different eyebrows as usual) in that gorgeous creamy pale skin tone that was known as Contessa or Contessina for previous skin lines.

Time to say 'thank you' ...

to Lara Darkbyrd, owner of [Mystic Canvass], for her incredible customer service. The masks worn in the pics were displayed as 'unisex' and, of course, we didn't demo them first and had to find out right before taking the pics that were was a problem with the alphas not covering certain parts of the neck. Lara did not only reply in a short time to our notecard and pay a refund but is currently working on a version that will be truly unisex. Kickass customer service is out there and deserves some praise.

to M4ri1yn Magic, owner of Tableau Vivant, for continuously delivering 100% original mesh items of excellent quality without resorting to the cheap template alternative that is becoming more and more popular among content creators. Quality comes with a price tag in either life and SL customers should always consider that from the work-time perspective there is no difference whether a creator designs a pair of jeans or accessories such as armwarmers. The process is the same - designing, texturing, rigging and uploading various sizes - and thus deserves the same fair payment.

Skin Review - Glam Affair [Roza for The Arcade]

The Arcade has started and little hamsters are already all over flickr and roaming the grid. If you rather maintain your somewhat human form, Glam Affair provides you with some beautiful special editions of their Roza skin. There are altogether 10 skins but I'm showing only my six favorites together with Exile's new hair in the most awesome fusion colors.

The skins come as shown - no hairbase or eyebrow choice voodoo but plain skin goodness with eyebrows matching the skin tones and that's it. The second one on the left is the rare and in my personal opinion most beautiful one. Good luck finding your favorite!

Skin Review - Tableau Vivant [The Art Series]

The Arcade - SL's biggest gacha event - is going to open in a few hours and Tableau Vivant will offer a special edition of collectable skins. The Art Series features eight colored skins with hand-drawn tattoos inspired by the work of Keith Haring on chest, legs and back. The skins are transferable so you can trade them if you have any doubles or need a special color.

Skin Review - CONNORS [Ophelia]

It's been quiet at CONNORS' for a while but early this week Salah Axel finally sent out an update notice and much to my surprise it announced her first female skin Ophelia, which comes in seven skin tones and every tone includes matching mesh hands, feet and nails so the tedious tinting is a matter of the past. 

Every skin tone comes with and without freckles and with natural and plucked brows in four natural makeups and four formal makeups each as shown below.

The face is cute and young, the lips are a little big (it was the first time I had to reduce my lip size to make a skin work) and the nose is well-made. The overall texture of both the face and the body is very smooth.

There's a bunch of layers available to spruce up your basic skin. Below you see the eye makeups (five girly eyeshadows and six glittery evening makeups).

In addition, there are four packs of lip layers available - pastel-colored spring and warm tones and two further packs with dark lip layers and some fantasy themed fairy lipsticks.

A remarkable feature of this skin is that it comes with a no brow version and additional brow layers in five colors - black, blonde, brown, red and white. Each colors comes in three different brow shapes - natural, thin and a makeup compatible plucked version. Please remember that the mixing and matching of various makeup layers requires a compatible viewer. 

In summary, Ophelia is a very pretty and youthful debut skin that gives you a ton of options for customization. A strong sales argument, besides the good quality of the texture, are surely the matching mesh parts and the variety of layers available.
